Perfectly Seared Ribeye Steak

Ingredients:

1 ribeye steak
Sea salt flakes
Freshly ground black pepper
50g butter
2 sprigs of thyme
1 clove of crushed garlic (with skin)

Instructions:

Season: Generously season both sides of the ribeye steak with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Preheat Pan: Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat until it’s smoking hot.
Sear Steak: Place the steak in the hot pan and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side to develop a golden-brown crust.
Add Flavor: Lower the heat to medium, add butter, thyme, and crushed garlic to the pan. Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steak continuously for 1-2 minutes.
Cook to Preference: Cook to your desired doneness:Rare: 120°F (49°C) Medium-rare: 130°F (54°C) Medium: 140°F (60°C)
Rest: Remove the steak from the pan, cover it loosely with foil, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
Serve: Slice against the grain and enjoy the rich, tender flavor of a perfectly cooked Ribeye.
