Ingredients:
For the Steak and Shrimp:
1 lb (450g) sirloin steak or ribeye, sliced into strips
1/2 lb (225g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Pasta and Sauce:
12 oz (340g) penne pasta
3 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
1/2 cup sautéed button mushrooms (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
For Garnish:
Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining. Set aside. - Prepare the Steak and Shrimp:
Season the steak strips with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder.
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak slices and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter and cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the steak. - Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt 3 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir until it begins to simmer gently.
Gradually add the Parmesan cheese while stirring, ensuring it melts and combines smoothly.
Add Italian seasoning, nutmeg (if using), and salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water. - Combine:
Add the cooked penne pasta and sautéed mushrooms (if using) to the skillet with the sauce. Toss until well coated. - Assemble the Dish:
Top the creamy pasta with the cooked steak strips and shrimp. Let it warm slightly in the skillet for a minute. - Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish. Serve immediately, hot and creamy.
